It was a thrill for President John along with new Rotarian Jeannine Faubert to join hundreds of fellow Toronto Rotarians and Toronto Rotaract members to meet and to hear RI President Sakuji Tanaka speak . It was especially enjoyed by President John, as a Charter member of the Toronto Rotaract Club and this was his first Rotary Club that he joined in 1984 after Rotaract.

Welcomed by the 28th Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, David Onley, entertained by Nagata Shachu a professional Japanese Taiko drumming troop and then Tanaka was presented with a cheque for $100K for Polio - which gets matched by CIDA and then the Gates Foundation so it becomes $300K .

Plus $8K was also donated to the Permanent Fund .

A terrific day for Rotary.
