Your Back to School Donation Can Change Lives for Many Generations
The Back to School Project began in November 2006 as a Rotary project in and near Cebu, an island in the southern Philippines. It recognized that everyone should have access to an education and be able to build a better future for themselves and their families. We can proudly report that over 90% of our elementary scholars continue their schooling once we get them started.
In our first year we helped 60 students go back to school. The numbers keep going up. This year we have over 2,100 learners benefiting from our programs. The Back to School Project is operated by the charitable arm of The Rotary Club of Collingwood/South Georgian Bay, in cooperation with the tireless efforts of unpaid volunteers from multiple Rotary clubs in the Cebu area.
Any donation – big or small – will help a student attend elementary school, complete high school or upgrade their earning potential through one of our skills training programs such as construction trades, hospitality, agriculture or skilled factory work.
Donations also help fund other initiatives that benefit these students and their communities such as Mobile Eye Clinics, Mobile Dental Clinics, Mobile Book Library and Mobile Construction Tool 'Library'. Watch for more announcements coming soon.
